Habit:
Spiny Redberry is a perennial shrub ranging through the coastal ranges of central and southern California and the Sierra foothills. The fresh stems have reddish brown skin and carry oval leaves about 3/4". The leaf edge has fine teeth and the surface is shiny with a depressed vein. The two specimens I have found are about four feet high.
Many California nurseries carry Redberry for the color of its fruit. Sunny or clearings.
